Capital Z

1993
motorized mobile with cardboard houses, shanties and high-rises
25′ x 25′ x 10′
collection: National Gallery of Canada

Artist’s note: “Based conceptually on Monopoly, extending to outlying slums. A sound system activated by a long mobile arm which strikes upstanding pendulums. The sound emitting sporadically from the houses are chants from around the world. The sounds bounce around spatially and the system runs continuously.”
